Early Snows In SW Colorado

This week the Santa Ana winds raged through California and created disasterous fires around Santa Barbara.

Meanwhile... SW Colorado (Bayfield, Durango & San Juan Mountain areas) were getting their first taste of snow, November 10, 2008. Monday morning, 11/10/208, we wokeup to that white wet snow falling North of Bayfield, Colorado that started sometime late Sunday evening.

By mid-morning we had about 5-1/4 inches of snow piled outside in our front & backyard -- it continued snowing the rest of the day.

It was a gentle, consistent snow. No drifts. The sun came out Tuesday with warming temperatures as the show slowly began to melt away. By the end of the week, only small patches of snow were left in the front and backyards. The bucks and deer gradually came back and began grazing on the green tuffs of grass in the yard.
