11/21/2006 - Marilyn Deere - Email: mdeere@itlnet.net -- Alva POW Camp... "I lived in Alva in the 40's. We lived at 911 College. Early in the mornings they would march the Germans from the train station to the POW camp. My sister and I would set and watch as they marched by. I also went with my dad to deliver gasoline to the camp. Sometimes I could ride in with him and other times they made me wait at the guard house. I remember people getting the pictures from the buildings when they were being torn down. Some were very good artist. I also went to the Horace Mann school at the college. I have enjoyed your site very much."
