The Thing...

"It was fun to remember the hype surrounding movies like  The House of Wax, Psycho and The Thing but does anyone remember a song with the same title as the latter?    Phil Harris sang a silly song entitled The Thing describing some mysterious speciman that the listener couldn't quite picture.  ('Get out of here with that DUM-DE-DUM (percussion) and don't come back again!')  Twelve-year old kids  tortured their parents by singing the catchy tune all summer long, anyway one did." -- Bonnie
