Edgar Jenkins, 1910 - Star Route, Lookout US Mail Carrier...
"Have just begun to look at the Okie Legacy web site. My reason for the interest is the fact that my grandfather, Edgar Jenkins, and his family owned land in Woods County, Section 15W from 1903 to 1909. In 1910, he was still a US mail carrier on a Star Route in the county, but moved soon after to Kansas, and then up into Iowa. It was most interesting to see the name of my grandfather, Ed Jenkins (Edgar Jenkins) listed as one of the mail carriers for the region around Lookout.
We are aware that he bought an acreage on April 16,1903 in Woods County.
160 acres, Section 10, Township 28N, Range 19W. We have no idea of
exactly where this land lies, or how he disposed of it. The 1910 census shows him in Woods County, and a US Mail carrier, star route. We do not know how'
long he had this position, etc. We do know that he apparently was married in Iowa, Hampton, to a Mary Dalrymple -- having divorced my grandmother, Delia
Jenkins. It was most interesting to see his name on the Okie Legacy site.
Thanks for the look." -- Edgar Jenkins, Colorado Springs, Co. - Email: RuthJenk@aol.com
