NW Okie's Journey

Houston, TX - With all the craziness going on in the world today, it brings to mind John Lennon's song, "Imagine." Here's a passage from that song:
"Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one"

1949 - Democratic Socialism Was Best Bulwark Against Communism.

It was in the Daily Independent Journal, San Rafael, California, dated 24 May 1949, Tuesday, page 7, Dr. Louis Wassermann told members of the Sausalito Forum at the Alta Mira hotel, Democratic socialism was the best bulwark against communism. There is a difference between communism and socialism. It was the "Hearst Press" that tried to make them synomious.

With everyone talking about Wahoo! How did you play it at the Rialto theatre? I must have been too young to go to the Rialto to play Wahoo! I don't remember anything about it. Someone please explain this "Wahoo" to some of us who never experienced it. Thanks alot!

1936 Plea For Democratic Socialism

Nothing has changed. We need a safe and sane social order for democracy. In The Gazette and Daily, York, Pennsylvania, dated 8 September 1936, Tuesday, page 11, we find evidence professed by Dr. Edwin G. Conklin that Democratic Socialism avoids the extremes of communism, fascism and individualism.
