August 1907 - Austin Senators & McGill (Pitcher)

We did some more searching for Grandpa Bill McGill's 1907 baseball career for the South Texas League with the Austin Senators. What we did find was that McGill was not pitching as well as he had in the last season.

This was also a couple of months before we find McGill pitching in September, 1907 for the St. Louis Browns of St. Louis, Missouri.

Dallas, Texas, August 17 (1907) - Revenge was sweet and the Giants slammed Big McGill until they got tired running the bases; the final score was 10 to 2. Louder, a new recruit, did the hurling for Maloney and had the Senators tied into a known most of the time. Trapper Longley was the only man that could do anything with his slants. Alls took the lead in the first round and the result was never in doubt. McGill was not pitching this year as well as he did last season.
