A woman who had been associated with the worthwhile movements in Alva since its earliest days, is Mrs. Renfrew, wife of the owner of the Renfrew Record, one of the two news papers there. For 18 years Mrs. Renfrew has been with the paper, and since Mr. Renfrew was appointed postmaster of Alva there years ago (1917). Mrs. Renfrew had been associate editor and manager of the paper. At the time of the formation of the Women's Democratic organization, Mrs. Renfrew was county chairmen, and in 1914 she was president of the City Federation of Women's Clubs. In 1914 and 1915 she was department president of W. R. C. and was a past matron the Eastern Star. A typical town booster was Mrs. Renfrew, who with Mr. Renfrew, had lived in Alva since the opening of the "Strip" in 1898.
