1961 JFK Kennedy Serigraph Print

Back in 2003 I received the following email from Vivian, whose father founded the Stan Ramsey Company and House of Ideas, and a good friend of the Dick Goetz, who did the print of President John F. Kennedy.

Vivian said, "Probably, our dads were friends. In addition to founding the Stan Ramsey Co. and House of Ideas, my father was also a fine artist, creative genius and absolute revolutionizer of all forms of screen process printing. He worked hours developing the process used on this portrait, and several other paintings.

I have the magnifying glass he used to perfect the art, and he is pictured with Dick Goetz. He and Goetz were close personal friends. They were dedicated to this portrait and this project. I may have my father's notes on this. Meantime, Hang on to that portrait!" -- Vivian.

JFK Serigraph

Paul said back in 2003, "I ran across my serigraph of Kennedy yesterday while cleaning out the garage for a sale. I searched the internet for reference to the print. I pulled the tape loose and discovered that my print is numbered 247 of 550. I'll let you know if I can gather more information. "It was produced with the series. I believe these were offered in 1961 through an ad in New Yorker magazine for $500.00. I too would like to find a current value.

"The prints were produced with a high quality silk screen enamel. All of the 27 colors were printed with transparent colors mixed by Stan Ramsey himself. All the film positives were hand painted by Stan after each color was dry. These are truly a work of art. If you have found any more information on these prints please share with me. Thanks."   |  View or Add Comments (0 Comments)   |   Receive updates ( subscribers)  |   Unsubscribe
