NW Okie's Corner

We found this article written by Henry Marx, a French Poet, "To Be Unhappy is To Blame Life Unjustly." It was published in the Aberdeen Herald, 1 April 1913, page 2. Whether this is true ... or NOT! That is up to only you to decide. You be the judge.

To Be Unhappy Is To Blame Life Unjustly

"To be Unhappy is to blame life unjustly. Those who understand this and realize that happiness is of their own making know that paradise is to be found here on earth.

"It should be the duty of the governments of the world to destroy the anguish and terror felt by living creates toward nature, life and death.

"Be happy in love. We must recognize that disillusionment is not always caused by the other person, but from lack of clear-sightedness.

"We must have the courage to be mistaken twenty times and, so far from despising disappointment, must understand that it can be useful in educating us."

Santa Fe Trail

This official scenic historic marker was spotted on the East edge of Clayton, New Mexico, Highway 64, concerning the Santa Fe Trail.

William Becknell, the first Santa Fe Trail trader, entered Santa Fe in 1821 after Mexico became independent from Spain and opened its frontier to foreign traders. The Mountain Branch over Raton Pass divided here. One fork turned west to Cimaron (sp), then south and joined a more direct route at Ravyado.

Have you noticed how it seems there is too much anger, hatred in the world? Leaving what seems to be a loss of "compassion for all humanity." What can we do to bring respect, understanding and compassion back into humanity? If one person starts it and passes it forward, can another person (or persons) catch hold and started a glassworks movement to "Pass It Forward?"

Let us reconnect with our hearts, re-kindle the compassion in our hearts for all humanity no matter our differences. We need to learn to be more respectful in his country. Thanks for helping me take the first step of "Passing It Forward."
