Towns Of Alfalfa County, OK

Aline -- Aline was laid out in 1901 by the engineer of the Choctaw Northern Railroad. The promoter of the Choctaw northern, Beeks Erick, helped to purchase the town site from Mr. Russell at a time when the town site company was having difficulty in raising enough money to put over the deal.

The original town was started just south of the present town. Five blocks were laid out. The town was named for Aline, the baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Hartshorn. The townsite board was composed of J. M. Staten, President, E. E. Hartshorn, Secretary, L. C. Thomas, A. G. Rosborough, and S. L. Christ.

The election was held at the office of M. f. Ford in Aline on August 7, 1903, and the town was declared incorporated by the county commissioners on August 20, 1903.
