The Rest of the Story...

Warwick (Oklahoma) Country School Reunion... "Thanks to you & Duchess, for making it possible to make contact with my ole school mates, from Warwick, Oklahoma country school. I was surfing the web, about 1 1/2 years ago, and by the grace of God, and you, I ran across a letter from Ruth Oliver, from Warwick. I had moved to Iowa, 60 years ago, and had lost all contact of my schoolmates. Well, last May we had our first annual Warwick Country School Renuion. This was thrown together in 5 dasy, with 35 in attendence. We are planning to hold the second annual Warwick School reunion."

Alva, OK, Block 29... "Enjoying mention of long-ago Alva landmarks from other posts. I started first grade at Longfellow School in 1936. Have many relatives who are residents of the Medicine Lodge cemetery. My grandfather, Joseph Fash, made the run in 1893 and the land south of Capron is still in the family, still being farmed. I'd like to know if Alva Flour Mills and Alva Roller Mills are the same? I'm still hoping to find someone who might know of Richard Hart, whose father was head of Alva Roller Mills sometime in the late 1920s or early 1930s".

Rockies & Smoky Bear... "Wanted you to know that the beauty of a '3-year-old's memory' or imagination is nothing to apologize for. What a beautiful thing to grow up thinking... and believing. Yes, it is important to give the rescuers the recognition they deserve, but it is just as beautiful to see the innocence and adoration of your love for your father. It is obvious that you have such love for your father and I appreciate you for sharing such a beautiful story. You have the blessings of a sweet memory of your father. Don't let that ever disappear. It is truely beautiful."

Orion Stories & photos... "I have almmost the same picture of those steps. My husband and I visited the Orion Cemetery in 2003 and wondered what the mysterious steps were for. Was there a building on top of the cement slap that is still there and if so what purpose did it serve? My husbands grandparents are buried there along with other members of his family. We've walked the cemetery 3 or 4 times and love the serenity of it."

Magill's - Lisbon, Saint Lawrence county, NY... "My Magills came from Ireland to New York Mills, NY, Oneida co, which is very close to yours in NY. They came in 1844. James Magill was born in 1784 in Ireland, Co. Down. Came from Dromore, with wife Elizabeth Stuart Magill and 8 children. From age 18 down to 6. I figure he came to NY Mills because he had family near. Possibly a brother to your Charles? I have checked into the St. Lawrance Magill family a few times, thinking there could be a connection. Is that possible?" -- Scotty Roberge   |  View or Add Comments (0 Comments)   |   Receive updates ( subscribers)  |   Unsubscribe
