Southern Wrought Steel Cook Ranges

It was in The Frankfort Roundabout. dated 3 July 1886, page 4, that we found this full-page ad for the Southern Queen Wrought Steel Cook Range.

The ad stated, a number of peddlers were going through the country offering for sale a so-called Wrought Iron Range, for which they were asking $58, or $63 on time. They were saying, also, the price was outrageously high in those days of strong competition. There were few ranges that would not cook well when set to a good flue.

An agent for the Southern Queen Wrought Steel Cook Range made of best quality No. 14 Wrought Steel, and having all the improvements known to the trade attached. Prices on Range for 6 hole, No. 7, with 32 pieces of trimmings, $40; 6 hole, No. 8, $50, full trim; No. 8, 4 hole, full trim, $45; 6 hole, No. 8, 30 gallon galvanized boiler and oven, complete, $65.

The agent said he would sell the range subject to approval. If it did not give satisfaction, they would take it back. You could buy these Southern Queen Wrought Steel Cook Ranges, from John T. Buckley, 211 St. Clair St., Frankfort, KY.   |  View or Add Comments (0 Comments)   |   Receive updates ( subscribers)  |   Unsubscribe
