In our Winter cleanup of The Okie Legacy website, we have most of the folders updated and finished the Oklahoma Mystery folders of the 1910 Old Opera House Murder and the 1956 Avard Road Unsolved Mystery updated.

For those unfamiliar with the 1910 Opera House Murder of Alva, Oklahoma, this is a summary of that case, in which Justice N. L. Miller was put on trial November, 1910, for the death of Mabel Oakes. Was it a homicide, suicide or accidental death. You can be the judge after reading the transcripts of testimony, newspaper clippings from that time period.

As for the March 13, 1956 fiery death of Mildred Ann (Newlin) Reynolds, it is considered to this day (I assume) a cold-case file, or unsolved mystery. Ann Reynolds was a petite 5ft. 2 inch, 100 lob., nice looking, young lady and a senior attending Northwestern State College. Mildred Ann Newlin married R. D. "Dee" Reynolds about nine months before her violent, fiery death. Was it an accident or homicide? Mildred was burned beyond recognition and one leg was burned completely off at the knee. It was her husband's 1949 Chevrolet Tudor Sedan that was some how set afire and Mildred's body was found lying across the front seat wither head away from the steering wheel. Most of the witnesses or those involved are deceased today. Those still alive, if any are keeping quiet about what really happened that day, the 13th of March 1956, at 1:40 p.m., when the young 22 year 0ld Mildred Ann Newlin Reynolds lost her life in a fiery incident on the Old Avard Road.
