Oklahoma Gas Prices Drop Again!

"I was totally amazed when I saw the sign at Conoco/Phillips stations as they had posted new prices yesterday (Tuesday, July 22) of $3.61.9 ! ! ! On Monday we hit 100 degrees in temperature for the first time this year and it may happen a couple more times this week. We're NOT expecting any snow or ice for anytime soon.

I forgot to mention that in attendance at Monday's celebration in Perry, Oklahoma was a man I've admired for years, and I think I voted for him EACH time that he ran for public office, former governor George Nigh. He'd presented to my father a white cowboy hat, back when my dad worked as a printer for the Oklahoma Auto Dealers Association? Dad was very proud to receive that hat (but I doubt that he ever wore it). He kept it in a place of honor (just like his plaque honoring him as a 50-year stint as a Sunday School teacher). Dad was quite an inspiration (in his own quiet way) to lots of folks.,br>,br> As to the drought... I think that's true about some counties because the panhandle went longer with no rain, but our area around Perry has had (I've heard) the best wheat harvest in many years. I don't know about the other crops (soy-beans, cotton, corn, etc.) but think those are good too. I also heard this evening that crude-oil prices have been dropping drastically because of surpluses caused by folks driving less and using less due to the previous high prices. Amazing isn't it?

We're expecting 3 more days of near 100 degrees (perhaps even higher). The bank thermometer said 105 today but I think it lied. Probably was ONLY about 99. Conoco/Phillips prices yesterday for their gasahol was posted at $3.46.9 per gallon, while the Sinclair station had posted $3.70.9 for regular unleaded (guaranteed to contain NO ethanol).
