OK Gas Prices Drop Again

July 19, 08 -- "Conoco/Phillips gas prices dropped again today .... down to $3.66.9 now and it wouldn't surprise me to see them go down again Monday because of the celebration with KOCO-5 TV coming to town.

Again I forgot to bring the newspaper home (it has the schedule of activities) but I noted that music will be playing most of the evening with at least 3 bands performing and a gospel music group or two along with the before mentioned wrestling exhibition from the two champions. I think the pet parade (for the kids to win cash prizes besides being given 50-cent pieces just for being there) will be right at 6 PM to be shown live of TV.

Channel 5 will broadcast both their 5 PM and 6 PM newscasts live from our courthouse square. They're due to arrive at 10 AM and will tour the Anheuser-Busch facility, Charles Machine Works (the Ditch Witch plant), the Cherokee Strip Museum, J Z Systems, where they cut metal up to 1/2" thick (perhaps even thicker) with high pressure jet-streams of water, besides checking out our downtown square again. I would guess they might check out the new jail that's almost ready for business, and perhaps the new school that's under construction. Of course I'll know more next week.

Here in Perry, Oklahoma, the weather has been in the 'cool' 70s at night but upper 90s in daytime the past few days with heavy clouds at times providing too much humidity. With this celebration coming up Monday, everyone (including me) is also cutting grass and that's giving my grass and weed allergies fits. While mowing at my place of business, I disturbed a nest of tiny cottontail bunnies and when they (unexpectedly) suddenly scattered in several directions, my mower accidentally hit one before I could stop. I had to feed that one to the cats.

I watched tonight's TV news long enough to learn that gas prices are falling all over the state and in OKC, they're down to $3.35 at some stations!" -- Roy
