Roy Kendrick Marks 20th Year in Show Business... "Perry, Okla. -- roy kendrick, operator of the perry Theatre and the Chief Drive-In, is observing his 20th year in show business and on Firday night, July 26, 1968, he had a special celebration to mark the event and treated all of his customers at both theatres to cake.... Dale Robertson... Made a flying trip from england to Oklahoma Saturday (10) to appear in the 37th annual American Indian exposition at Anadarko (Oklahoma). The actor arrived here at 2 p.m. and was whisked by private car to Anadarko, where he was honored by the exposition board at the 5:30 banquet. Dale was honored again at 7:30 in ceremonies in front of the grandstand when he ws given a leather scroll proclaiming him as the Outstanding American Indian of 1968. dale, a quarter Chickasaw, earlier had said he would be unable to attend the exposition because of his European commitments but he canceled those engagements in order to be present at the Anadarko ceremonies. The day's events in Anadarko had started with a 1 p.m. parade in which Dale's mother, Mrs. Varvel Robertson, and his daughter, Rebel Lee, 7, represented the movie cowboy. Also riding in the parade was Sunset "Kit" Carsen of Gracemont, formerly a performer with the Tom Mix circus."
