Updates From Colorado...

We had just about given up hope of ever having any red tomatoes... until a couple of days ago. That's when we spotted the color change on a few of the green tomatoes.

WOW! We suppose the whining about only green tomatoes must have worked. NOW... there are more tomatoes making the color change to red. The sixty days of ripening tomatoes must be approaching here in southwest Colorado. These "Better Boys" seem to take forever up here in Southwest Colorado.

This week we have experienced temperatures rising to the mid-90's here in southwest Colorado. We heard from several of you that Oklahoma has been feeling the Dog Days of Summer with highs reaching to 110F. That's without factoring in the humidity, though. In that case, make it 120F. Sounds like you finally got a break Friday with a 10-degree drop in temperatures when the northern cool front came through.

Friday afternoon did bring a bit of a cool down here in the valley of southwest Colorado in the early evening around 6:00 p.m. when thundershowers poured through the valley and dropped a half inch of rain in an hours time. We also lost our electricity until about 9:45 p.m.

The Pugs and NW Okie just lit their oil-type lamp and candles and sat in the recliner -- listening, watching the hummingbirds feeding in between rain showers. It was so... quiet, calm listening to the patter of rain drops and thunder in the distance while watching the hummingbirds feed! You could almost hear a pin drop!

We have been doing some re-installing of our OkieLegacy Blog. It was down for awhile, but is up and running now.

As to our Colorado gas prices here in southwest Colorado, they are hanging around the same at $3.129 at the local Conoco in Bayfield, Colorado.
