Rex and I were privileged to tour the Dorsey Mansion north of Clayton several years ago. It would be worthy of preservation with such great history and a magnificent mansion. Our guide had wonderful stories. I don't know if that is possible now, but if so, I highly recommend it. I remember a rocking-horse pool or moat built for the Dorsey's young son, stories about Chinese servants; also on the top floor, places for look-outs to shoot unwelcome intruders. I believe Dorsey was the first senator from NM.
