1902 - Outlaws Died With Boots On

Bert Casey shot and killed my Great Great Grandfather Frank E. Smith, Sheriff of Caddo County, OK in January 1902. The death of Sherif Smith made the newspapers in Fremont, Sandusky County, Ohio. The Oklahoma Historical society has a photo of the location of the shooting, as well as newspaper articles detailing Sheriff Smith's funeral.
