CommentsVolume 5, Issue 15 - Feature #5201Jack Hayward There are 3 Hayward murals in Freedom, OK (that I know of). One is in the Post Office; another is in the Longbranch Cafe (may not be the same name now, but it's on the south side of the street, east end); and a third is in the old Cattleman's Cafe (north side of street, east of the museum). Rod Murrow - 2013-10-23 21:28:51 Ed, my grandmother, Viola Hunt (who owned the Crowell House at 801 Flynn in Alva in the late 1960s-early 1970s), was good friends with Jack and Marge Hayward. I remember them both well, and had the honor of visiting Jack's studio a couple of times when I was a kid. I was in the Graceful Arts Gallery in Alva this afternoon and they said they often get questions about Jack's work. Teresa Rogers - 2013-10-23 20:40:34 I did have some lessons under Jack. Better yet I have a charcoal collection and a large painting. When dad was building the new Warrick's shoe store on the north square he hired Jack to paint a western scene in the back of the sales area. I was in the second grade and my dream ranch was west of town. Jack put my EW on the cattle and horses, painted a rattle snake in the rocks for my request. I'm getting ready to reframe it. Jack gave me my ranch for life. I have been looking for information about Jack's paintings and if there is an interest in his works and where they are located.
