CommentsVolume 5, Issue 8 - Feature #5097T-Bone Ranch - Cherokee, Oklahoma My Great Grandparents were Ray & Luella O'Dell the gentleman that ran Bakers farm in the 40s, 50s & 60s. I have been to Cherokee several times. Met Miss Faye at Bakers store when I was a child in the early 80s. The Cloyd's and my Ggrandparents were good friends. My grandmother Beulah met my grandfather when he was stationed near Cherokee in the early 40s. Then later married him after the war. Just as recent as June 2012 my father and I went to Cherokee and carried home six jugs of water from Brickmans well. Laura Wright - 2012-09-04 17:01:05 I too have many memories of Mr. Baker and his farm and ranch, as I recall Ray Cloyd ran the ranch and another gentleman ran the farm, having trouble remembering his name. Bakers store and Parker Hardware next door, connected by an indoor pass thru. The Resler twins also worked at the store with Faye Griffin running the show most of the time. Spent a lot of time on Mr. Bakers lap up in his office upstairs at the back of the store. Played catch with him behind the store in the alley and fondly remeber calling him "ballplayer" in my younger years. Great people. Where did all of these kinds of people go??????? Rich Perkins(Tulsa OK) - 2010-08-25 21:52:49 Mary Baker was a friend of my mother. Mary invited us down to Cherokee on several occasions in the late 30s and early 40s. Spent several nights at the T-Bone over the years. Loved to hunt and fish in his pond. Did a little horseback now and then. The last time I saw CH was in 1942, I was 14 and had just got my Kansas Drivers License. CH let me drive his Ford. I was so impressed. They were always very generous. I knew Faye Griffin, Chuck and Belva Parker. Visited Belva at the Golden Oaks Village in 2002 and 2003. Have some great memories of Cherokee and the T-Bone Ranch. rcl475@tcsn.net Dick Loomis - 2010-08-10 18:29:40 Please submit your own comments below.
