CommentsVolume 11, Issue 7 - Feature #4171NW Oklahoma Ghost Towns Many years back, the Keffer reunion was held at the Carmen park on the last Saturday in July. I recall mention of Augusta having been the wintering place for a circus. The name of the circus I don't recall, but the railroad seemed to play a big part in its location. My mother said this was the first time she had seen several "wild animals." Marvin Henry - 2009-02-15 22:18:25 Wow - I'd forgotten all about this! I remember that I'd visited the museum in Cherokee and found microfilm copies of old newspapers -- but no reader for the machine! I've not been back there since, so I have no idea if they might now have a machine or not. (Might be a good project for some civic-minded group).
