Noodling, Catfishing

I saw the "okie noodling" episode on Dirty Jobs. I have grown up in Oregon, but my dad is an Okie and I had to ask him about it because I had never heard of it before. He recalled, when he was young, his dad and uncles taking him out to "noodle". He was young and it seemed to be a "right of passage". A way of fishing that was handed down. I know that the Okies do this and it is a way of fishing, but I thought it was pretty entertaining to watch.
