This is really cool. My Grandma and Grandpa Kendrick had a little grocery store in the 1960s on South Shields Blvd in OKC called "Kendrick Grocery & Market".

My middle son Chris remembered some things my dad had told him while he stayed with them when he studied computers at a junior college in OKC. Dad had pointed out that the FIRST Kendrick Grocery was just 1/2 block east of his second one and that it had closed in 1928 to be torn down for construction of the (then) new Britton City Hall, fire station, and library; and was located at the northwest corner of Western Avenue and Britton Road. That city hall was an abandoned building when our Boy Scout Troupe met in it in the late '40s. ... Roy Kendrick
