CommentsVolume 8, Issue 23 - Feature #1888Duchess Corner Happy Birthday Robbie! I did not realize the 10th was your birthday. Today, June 11th is the birthday of Theresa's older boy, Brian. We just called to wish him a happy birthday, too. Uncle Lou and Aunt Kaye Lou Wagner - 2006-06-11 12:56:10 I thought there was another place to comment on your beautiful roses (and tomatoes)...but there isn't; so here goes - my mother's side of the famly were the "rose" girls, always planting & having beautiful roses & we also passed down through generations wonderful old tubers of peonies (especially the older fragrant ones, which are hard to get started & established). Then, I branched off into the Clematis family & had several growing all in my backyard & up trees...I love them, all their wonderful colors & shapes & trailing habits. Sometimes they are hard to get established also & actually like cooler climates than here in Central/Southern Oklahoma...going north & up...they grow beautifully (Chicago & on up to Richmond, VA); as do the large hostas (hard to grow here even in the shade) & slugs love to eat huge holes in them. I used to dig my little wells of beer for those nasty huge/big slugs & found them drunk to drowned the next day!!! I will have to say, that beatiful opened picture of the pink rose is astounding & I can smell it through the computer...imagine that?!?!? Ms. Jan :) Jan Carver - 2006-06-10 14:01:56 Regarding June birthdays: My mom (Nan Stevenson of Tecumseh, OK) was 72 on June 9th. AND...the beautiful sunset you have there in Bayfield, I have seen hundreds of times here in Oklahoma City, especially from the FBO at Wiley Post Airport (got some great pics of them too, especially after a storm). I had always thought we have the most beautiful "pink/peach" sunsets here in OKC...but guess not (how silly of me to think that anyway :))!
