The Groceteria was on the south side of Barnes, east of 7th Street and was renamed Magnuson's when it was remodeled.

Blakemores was located one block north of the square and eventually became Ideal. I believe the Eastside Market sat in the same block as the Runnymede Hotel and was the forerunner to the Red Bud Supermarket. I don't know if it was the same store, but I remember Mrs. Short having a store in a residential area between 2nd and 3rd street not far from Longfellow School.
