CommentsVolume 7, Issue 43 - Feature #1016Remember Some of These Places... Amy, I would love to see some pictures of the old Okarche theater and hear some of the stories if you and your relatives would like to share them in our OkieLegacy Ezine. NW Okie - 2008-01-06 10:55:46 If your still looking for old photos of the Okarche Theater I might be able to help. My Cousin owns and currently resides in the building. My mother remembers going to the Theater. I think she once showed me a photo. I'm sure there is someone in my family that has pictures. They have resided there my entire life and I'm proud to say that is were I grew up and went to school. Amy L Kraus - 2008-01-05 23:19:07 It was called the Max Theater in the 1940s Doc - 2006-05-19 16:11:12 Ooops! You are correct! That should have been Hwy 81. Don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for the correction. I have changed it. NW Okie - 2005-10-29 20:55:02 RE: The second thing we are searching for and need your help on is the old theatre in Okarche, Oklahoma. We would love to find an old photo and whatever history someone might have out there for us. Okarche is that little town that is nestled between Kingfisher and El Reno on US Hwy 281 and split down the main street of Okarche by two counties (Oklahoma & Kingfisher County). I believe that the US Hwy is 81 and not 281, since 281 runs north and south from Medicine Lodge, KS, to Alva, OK, to Waynoka, OK, and points south which places it quite a way west of Okarche, Kingfisher, and El Reno.
