Perry, Oklahoma Takes in Katrina Survivors...

Many of the folks who fled from the south coasts decided to stay in Oklahoma because of the generosity shown them, but others returned to the neighborhoods they once knew. The building where we once housed those refugees has since been torn down because of later dis-repair and vandalism.

I'm certain that all contributions will be welcome (no matter which address is used) and will find their way to the proper channels. I have not been involved with anything other than getting the word out. My grandson told me this afternoon that he has already seen one of the survivors (a preteen girl) who has just been enrolled in his school so we know that some of the aid is helping. We also know of some folks who are trying to stay there. We'll help them too of course in any way that's possible. ...Roy

Roy, I found the address I used on the internet and have already mailed my check along with a copy of your message to Okie Legacy and a note from me. I'm sure it will find its way to the right place. I'm out of the state during the hot months and would never have heard of Perry's efforts without your taking the time to write to the Okie.

The corrected address for financial donations for Perry's Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief is: Perry Ministerial Alliance; P.O. Box 273; Perry, Ok. 73077. The previous address posted is the address of the Perry Church of the Nazarene and I'm certain that they too would forward any contributions directly to the Ministerial Alliance. Thanks to all concerned. Roy Kendrick

Roy, please post an address where donations can be sent to either the Perry Ministerial Alliance or any other local group helping with Katrina evacuees. I would like to send a check.
