Roger, I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. It's okay if you want to write a small column about my grandfather's baseball playing career. I don't believe I need to give relatives a heads up before they read it. Please go ahead. Thanks and Good Luck with column.

Hi, Linda: I am still interested in writing a small column about your grandfather's baseball-playing career. Is it okay with you if I do? Do you need to give a heads-up to any relatives before they read what I write in the newspaper? Thanks again! You may contact me and leave a voice-mail message at 580-327-8520. Thanks!

Roger, I'm honored that you would like to talk to me about my Grandfather Bill Mcgill. Little that I know except for the news clippings I found in a baseball scrapbook he maintained. Grandpa and Grandma were divorced sometime during the mid-1940's during WWII. My older sister Dorthy probably knew him better than I did. By the time I came along in 1948, Grandpa was remarried to Blanche. The recollection I have of my Grandpa Mcgill are slim to almost none. It is sad but true... The only memory I have of visiting him was the funeral home where he lay in state in 1959. By the time I was old enough to get to really know my grandpa before he died, the family didn't gather around him, especially after my uncle Bob, Gene's brother, died in Feb. 1954. Sometimes I wish I could turn back the clock, travel back in time to get to know the grandpa I didnot know. Thanks for asking, though.

Hi. I just became aware of your grandfather, his baseball career, and his attendance at NWOSU. I am a history professor at NWOSU and I also write a weekly column for the Alva newspaper. I would love to write a column about your grandfather. Would you mind talking to me about him a little bit sometime? My office phone number is 580-327-8520. My email address is rdhardaway@nwosu.edu Thanks!
