Carmen IOOF Home Old Photo

Dwight Beckham, yes, it had tubular fire escapes and I have been trying to find a picture of them. I lived in the home on the 2nd floor which was for employees when I was somewhere around 9 yrs old (not sure). It was when the home was what we called an Old Folks Home. My mom, Louise Bedell was the cook. I love this old home. I now live in AZ but made a special trip to Carmen after my dad's funeral in May 2012 when I left where he died in Missouri. I asked around town about the home and was told a man who owned a lot of the property in Carmen bought it and they told me where he would be, I think at the auto shop. He gave me the keys to go open it, by myself. I looked at the 1st level of the home until something spooked me which is another story.

I was a member of the Carmen School Band circa 1940. We performed at some festivities on the homes premises. I recall the home had tubular fire escapes.
