Good morning! I am looking for ANY info on Fred Crawford Ford in Alva, Oklahoma. I have a 1958 Ford Fairlane Skyliner Retractable Hardtop "Fliptop" that was purchased there by Eugene Brown in July, 1958, and I am piecing together the history of it. If anyone has photos, memorabilia, or used to work there in July, 1958, please contact me at scottokie@scottokie.com Thank you!

I have memories of Golden Krust Bakery as well, as a child, skating across the floured floor. My Grandpa, O'Dell Henry worked & retired there. My dad worked there too, but I wasn't even thought of at that time..

Golden Krust Bakery on the east side of the square. TG&Y and Jett's were on the west side (with C.R. Anthony on the SW corner), and the Ben Franklin store on the north side. Fred Neuman's music store moved a lot, it seems. I can think of at least four locations. 1 - just north of Central National Bank (I think), then just west of the bank, then on the north side of the square (was it in the old theater building?), and finally on the south side of the square where J&J Appliance is located today.

Other downtown businesses included Pracna Floral Shop, the City Cleaners, Wood Appleman's, Rex Gard jewelers, Brunstetter Motors, Fred Crawford Ford, Joe Edwards Chevrolet, Ware Motors, Jets, C.E. Loomis Furniture, Oklahoma Tire and Supply and many more. I sat down some time ago, and wrote down over 90 businesses that I could remember around or adjacent to the square in the fifties and sixties.
