Fort Supply Sanitarium - NW OK

My great gandfather was a patient and died here in 1920. If anyone knows how to get records of former patients, I would love to know!

I found a book at the Univ of Oklahoma about the history of Ft Supply. It said that it was taken over in 1903 by the Oklahoma Territorial govt & then given in 1908 for use as an asylum. I took two pics with my phone that I can upload. My great grandfather was supposedly there for 8 months after a traumatic injury on the farm.

My father died there in Nov.1932 and his son(me) was born to his widow March of 1933 in Blackwell, Ok. which was his home also before being sent to the Sanatorium. My older sisters suggested his death was due to a "shock" treatment but death certificate says it was due to cerebral hemorrhage. So I too wonder about medical treatment records and causes of death.

I'd also like to know how to get records of former patients at Fort Supply. Our great uncle, a WW I veteran, was there for some years.

I have been waiting for someone to be looking at the Sanatorium for a long time. So excited to talk to Phoebe. I have an Aldridge family member buried there. VW
