Dr. Young had a Clinic and Hospital,in a home, in Freedom. The office was on the bottom floor and hospital rooms were upstairs. It was located one block north of the main street, where The Freedom State Bank is on the West side and the Locker Plant is on the east side. A family by the name of Daughtee owned the house at one time. Back in 1941 or 1942 my two brothers and myself, had our tonsils and adneoids taken out, all at the same time, maybe my parents got a bargain deal.

Dr. Young's clinic is the south part of the First Baptist Church here in Alva. For a lot of years, it ws used as their offices. it has been joined to the church and now and may still have offices.

I remember Dr. Young and his clinic. He was our family Dr. in the 1950's. I don't know when he left Alva. I do know that he had a clinic and hospital in Freedom, OK in 1946 because I had my appendix taken out at that hospital that summer. Also stayed 2 weeks in his hospital as that was the practice then when a person had surgery. My mother stayed with me all that time. I am Eva Welch of Alva and my parents were Joel and Eva Glenn.

Yes I remember Dr Youngs Clinic. He was my father's and step mother's doctor. They both died of heart attacks in the hospital that was a part of the Clinic. I believe that he had a clinic at Freedom, Ok. also.
