Volume 7, Issue 4 - Feature #238

Early Days (ca. 1947) NW Oklahoma Children...

Yep! That 1947 photo was taken at the ranch on hwy 11, north of Waynoka, Okla. Bob McGill married Felicia in 1950. That little blond child in the middle looks to be about a 2-year (almost) old little boy to me. Connie Jean McGill (on left) would have been about 4-years and Dorthy McGill (on right) would have been about 3-years. AND... a reminder is that Max Devine is the young boy down front. Could that little blond boy and the taller girl (next to Dorthy) be related???

One of the girls may be a Faulkner, but one of them is NOT Monet Monfort. The McGill girls did not know any of the Monforts until Felicia married Bob McGill and by then, McGills were living at 703 7th Street in Alva, rather than at the ranch. Monet Monfort was most definitely a town girl.

I am think I know 2 names. The first name would be the one standing beside Connie. If I am right her name is Linda Faulkner, (her parents had the laundry mat) she was in Connies class in school but she would have only been 4 going on 5 that next october. The one standing next to her (the blond) would be Monet Monfort. I am of course checking with my mom and as soon as I here from her I will let you know.
