Barbara Walters, I also attended Longfellow 1936, 1st grade, under Mrs Summers. You may remember a little boy getting in lots of trouble, thats me. also my grandfather Huff ran in the "Run' settled 4 miles south of Capron, friends and neigbors of the Fash,s. small world?

I forgot to mention that the lots measurements in Block 29, Lots 17 thru 32 were 25 feet wide and 150 feet deep, with 16 lots in the block.

I'm enjoying mention of long-ago Alva landmarks from other posts. I started first grade at Longfellow School in 1936. Have many relatives who are residents of the Medicine Lodge cemetery. My grandfather, Joseph Fash, made the run in 1893 and the land south of Capron is still in the family, still being farmed. I'd like to know if Alva Flour Mills and Alva Roller Mills are the same? I'm still hoping to find someone who might know of Richard Hart, whose father was head of Alva Roller Mills sometime in the late 1920s or early 1930s, as we have something of a family connection. Thanks for your work, Linda!
