Jesse Garrison & Postage Stamp Art...

March 30, 1993 I hand carried 100 prints of "Indian Country", done by Mr. Felton Stroud of Okc, to the Oklahoma City Post Office located at 320 S.W. 5th. I parked on the east side of the docks and handed them to the local postal clerk, and he in turn handed them over to the clerk inside to apply the official First Day Of Issue cancellation for the 29 cent Oklahoma Broadway Play postage stamp. Thus my idea of documenting a piece of Oklahoma history was born. I inspired others to collect not only postage stamps, postal cancellations as well to document periods of time.

"steve" you already know how I developed the idea of using postage stamps to create art.

WOW!! A Chisholm Trail cowboy in your family...tell us more of this postage stamp art. Are you cutting up stamps and pasting them on paper, or what? Or do you collect post office cancellations? Please tell us more. Thanx!!
