Ranger Album 1917 NSN Notable Incidents

The State of Oklahoma has a unique history. Most of the states of the Union were slowly built up and settled by a gradual influx of settlers into their territory. Oklahoma was composed of Indian reservations which were thrown open to settlement.

Ranger Album 1917 NSN Base Ball Season

The outlook for a good base ball season is exceptionally good this year. There is a large number of the old men back and a number of new men have come in, who are expected to make a good showing. The team was rather late getting started to work this year, but nevertheless it is expected that Coach Wyatt will whip the boys into shape in a very short while. The student body this year is back of the team with more pep and enthusiasm than ever before.

Ranger Album 1917 NSN Freshmen Class

The following were the Northwestern State Normal Freshmen Class Officers in 1917. Since the days when we were verdant "B's" this class has been a quiet but potent factor in Northwestern. We are not given to boasting for we know that self praise is half scandal. However, we have lost much of our verdancy and in this year in Northwestern, we have shown the other people that we are able to do something.

Ranger Album 1917 NSN History of A Class

Ranger Album 1917 NSN History of A Class -- In September, 1916, a promising class of sixty members entered the halls of learning at N. S. N. As every live class does, we met in the third week of our year's school days, and, under the supervision of our class advisors, Miss Crumley and Professor Vinson, elected our class officers; Chester Savage, president; Joe Heaton, Vice-President; Wardell Sturdevant, Secretary; Ruth Woodward, Treasurer, and Joseph Perry, Sergeant-at-arms.

Ranger Album 1917 NSN Junior Class

Junior Class History
In the year '13 the largest class of B's entered N. S. N. that had ever before been enrolled in that institution. During their first year they got the school spirit and bore bravely the burden of embarrassment which every B feels, and looked forward to the time when they could look down instead of being looked down upon.

'Just wondering if you might be related to Mildred Wells Parker from that same area. She was an old friend. I'm also curious if you ever heard an old story about old cream cans hidden by gangsters on that farm?

Ranger Album 1917 NSN Track

Track at Northwestern seems to have taken on new life. This year Northwestern will have a large number of entries in the state meet, and it is their intention to carry off the highest honors. The present prospects are far greater than usual and some records will have to be smashed if Northwestern fails to carry off the honors which she is going after at the state meet this year.

Ranger Album 1917 NSN Athletics & Basketball

At the close of the 1915-16 season the Ranger basket ball team held the championship of the secondary schools of the state, and was pronounced by all who saw them in action as the best five in the state. Because of their scientific playing, size and age, it was decided that if sufficient financial aid could be secured the team should make a trip to the Pacific coast.

Ranger Album 1917 NSN Sophomores Class

The Sophomore Class started in the fall term with lots of "pep" and in every way proved themselves the equal of any class in school. One of the interesting events of the winter term was the contest between the Sophomore and Freshmen Classes to decide the right of the Freshmen to wear insignia. Another was the reception given by the Sophomores in honor of the victorious Rangers, three of whom are Sophomores.
