1914 - White Slaver Captured In Love County (Okla.)

It was one hundred years ago, 24 November 1914, Tuesday, that The Daily Ardmoreite, out of Ardmore, Oklahoma reported on the front page, "White Slaver Captured In Love County." Sheriff Cochran had him (white silver) in charge and he would be dealt with at the March term of district court.

Does anyone remember an older 1903 broadway version of "The Wizard of Oz?" This next article might interest you. It was in The Day Book, dated 25 My 1914, Noon Editon, image 20, that we found this interesting story concerning an opera singer marrying the "Tinman." Was it just a publicity stunt?
