Walking With Sadie

This Sunday afternoon NW Okie let me ride along up a steep country road to the Tuckerville ghost mining camp and the top of Middle Mountain, in Southwest Colorado. I did get to unload from the vehicle a few times to mark some territory, sniff around.

It was 100 years ago, Tuesday, 6 October 1914, that the Amarillo Daily News, reported on it's front page headlines: Senate passes Anti-Trust Laws. Democrats to hold caucus in endeavor to finish and adjourn.

1959 thru 1960's Democratic Politics

Once again we continue with the early 1960's Democratic Politics in Oklahoma and the seriousness of the split in the Demcrats of Oklahoma from September, 1959. My Father, Gene McGill, was beginning his run as the State's Chairman of the Democratic party around that time.

Tuckerville Cave Basin Mining District of Colorado

In the Durango Evening Herald, dated 10 February 1928, there was an Advertisement mention of the Tuckerville, Cave Basin Mining District. This advertisement was placed by the Mount Runlett Metals Company of Cortez, Colorado to promote the new mining camp of Tuckerville.

On page four of The Daily Ardmoreite, dated Friday, 14 October 1921, there was this feature concerning Politics and the Public. It seems that things had etched a deplorable state when measures aimed and intended for the benefit of public good were handicapped by petty party politics.
