Sometimes when you are catching up with your medical after getting insurance, little things arise that might spark a bit of anxiety. One of those little things was an overdue mammogram a few weeks ago that showed some calcifications in right breast.

Charles T. Reuter Killed In His Bedroom (5/4/1912)

It was in the Sunday The Tulsa Daily World, May 5, 1912, that the front page headlines reported: "Reuter Killed In His Bedroom."

Charles T. Reuter, a well known Tulsa attorney, was foully murdered at 1 o'clock in the morning of 4 May 1912. His wife was locked in her room. She heard arguing conversation and thud as husband fell to floor. Death was instantaneous. Mr. Reuter came to Tulsa from Peoria five years ago.

Duchess of Weaselskin

This last week brought brought lots of rain to the southwest corner of Colorado. Things got really soaked and saturated. Parts of the area around Durango, Bayfield and Vallecito had so much rain, mudslides and boulders slid into the roadways. It did fill up Vallecito Lake, which was really in need of a good filling by mother nature.

Laura Reuter's Own Life Story

One hundred years ago, 23 September 1913, Tuesday, the widow Laura Reuter was on trial for the death of her husband. The following appeared in The Tulsa Daily World, front page headlines: "Laura Reuter's Own Life Story." Laura told her story on the eve of her trial, and was confident of acquittal.She only wanted a jury that could distinguish right from wrong and that could stand by their convictions.

Exhaust Venire In Reuter Case (9/23/1913)

This is another article found in The Tulsa Daily World, 23 September 1913, concerning the Reuter murder case. Eleven prospective jurors to try Mrs. Reuter were selected the day before. Crowds filled the courtroom. The jury would be secured either late that day or the next day, Wednesday.

First Evidence Is Introduced (9/23/1913)

It was in The Tulsa Daily World, dated 24 September 1913, morning edition, "First Evidence Is Introduced," as witness repeats story of killing as told by Mrs. Reuter. The Jury was completed late in afternoon, and Malloy finished his opening statement.
