Dah Bear! That is him on the left. The youngster bear came cruising through our yard the other evening around 6:45p.m., on 25 July 2012, but did not find anything to their liking to munch on so the "dah bear" ventured across the street to the neighbors before disappearing back north near Vallecito River.

100 Years Ago Today - 30 July 1912

One hundred years ago today we read in The Medford Mail Tribune, Tuesday, 30 July 1912, of the "Convention Plans of New Party Are Now Completed." This is concerning the breaking off of a part of the Republican party into the national progressive independent "Bull Moose" party.

Did you catch the OpeningCeremony of 2012 Olympics in London? What about the lighting of 200 hundred torches coming together as one big cauldron torch. Fantastic! Loved the the illumination of butterflies lit on the backs of bicyclists that rode around the darken track. And what about James Bond and Queen Elizabeth in the opening ceremony of the London Olympics 2012! You should not forget the singing of "Hey Jude" by Sir Paul McCartney and the audience either.

Pendleton County, (West) Virginia

A little bit more of the naming and how Pendleton county was formed. Pendleton County was created by an act of the Virginia General Assembly adopted on December 4, 1787, and effective as of May 1, 1788, from parts of Augusta, Harding and Rockingham counties (Virginia). It was named in honor of Edmund Pendleton (1721-1803). Edmund Pendleton was born in Caroline County, Virginia on September 9, 1721.

1907 - Wm. J. Bryan In Oklahoma

In 1907 William J. Bryan was editor and proprietor of The commoner, printed in Lincoln, Nebraska. In the 13 September 1907 of The Commoner there was an article concerning "Mr. Bryan In Oklahoma." Bryan delivered several speeches in the Oklahoma campaign which campaign terminated Tuesday, September 17, 1907, when the election would take place. On the first day he spoke at Vinita, Tulsa and Sapulpa, in Indian Territory (eastern part of Oklahoma). Bryan also spoke at Bristow, Chandler and Oklahoma City on that same day. On the second day he spoke at Woodward and Alva in Oklahoma Territory (northwest part).

1912 - Taft Delegates Seated Fairly

It was Monday, 29 July 1912, that the The New York Tribune proclaimed on the front page that "Taft Delegates Seated Fairly." The National chairman Hilles explained in detail contests before the Chicago convention and raps Roosevelt claims. States protests were entered into for purpose of deceiving the public and a statement was approved by Taft, issued from the White House.
