NW Okie's Journey

We continue our breast cancer journey for the next few months as we recuperate from mastopexy of left breast and silicone implant in right breast. Everything is healing nicely, as the right breast has no sensations and the uplifted left breast is healing and itching like crazy.

Walking With Sadie

If you would have walked with this Sadie Pug yesterday and today, the sixty mile an hour wind may have lifted you in the air, over the mountain to the East. It was also dusty yesterday in parts of the valley with electrical lines being blown down. We lost LPEA electricity for almost two or three hours yesterday evening.

The Territorial Normal School, Edmond, Oklahoma (1901)

It was in The Beaver Herald, dated 10 October 1901, front page, that we found the news article entitled, The Territorial Normal School, Edmond, Oklahoma. It was report in about the term opening September 10th, 1901. This Normal institution was offering superior advantages for thorough education and training.

One hundred years ago, Tuesday, 31 March 1914, in The Daily Ardmoreite, front page headlines read: Woman In Quarrel Slays Husband. This domestic quarrel lead to the killing of J. R. Lawson, a farmer at Bennington.

In The Beaver Herald, dated 10 October 1901, we found the following News Of The Vicinity: A. H. Barrett and A. Vantassel were in town Tuesday; E. E. Harlin of Logan township was a business seller in town Monday; Call on J. P. Odlell & Co., for seed rye, Liberal, Kansas; and Buidling material of all kinds at Bolin & Brown's, Liberal.

1914 Negro Woman Lynched By Oklahoma Mob

In The Evening World, New York, NY, 31 March 1914, front page headlines, we find this disturbing headline: Negro Woman Lynched By Oklahoma Mob. She was hanged from a telephone cable by masked men for having stabbed a white man.

We may have included this in an early OkieLegacy Ezine Issue, but will resubmit, just in case some WARWICK ancestry and researchers are interested. It is taken from the Southern Historical Magazine - August, 1892. Vol 14, Iss 40 Virginia - It is a pdf file from Gerald McLaughlin concerning some history of the WARWICK Ancestry in Virginia. The PDF file comes from the Southern Historical Magazine, published by Virgil Lewis, Charles, W. Virginia, August, 1892, Vol. II, No. 2, and devoted to history, biography, genealogy, archaeology and kindred subjects that was issued monthly.
