Sometimes the waiting around is the worst! Sometimes you just want to get the show on the road and get things taken care of. Sometimes you also find ways to pamper yourself, getting a new hairdo is one of those pamperings I have done in the past few weeks.

(1906) Equal Rights League

Also in the Hopkinsville Kentuckian, page 5, you might read about the "Equal Rights League" organized by Mr. Geo. V. Green and others. The Democratic Equal Rights League of Kentucky was formed at a meeting at the Galt House the evening of 28 September 1906, as reported by the Hopkinsville Kentuckian on 29th of September 1906.

Duchess of Weaselskin

[The bronze statute above, on the left was sculptured by my friends dad, Larry Ludtke, and that stands in the JFK Tribute across the street from the former Hotel Texas (now a Hilton), 815 Main, Fort Worth, Texas.]

This is in remembrance of the 50th year since the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, 22 November 1963, Fort Worth, Texas. The day Americans lost hope.

(1906) Big Cancer In Each Breast

Back in September 26, 1906 the Hopkinsville Kentuckian Newspaper was reporting on page 5 about "Big Cancer In Each Breast" when they were saying in woman's breast any lump was cancer. The following article in the Hopkinsville Kentuckian was reprinted from an article from a newspaper in Troy, Illinois, 26 September 1906.

One Hundred Years Ago 9 November 1913

One hundred years ago today, 9 November 1913, Sunday morning, Ardmore, Oklahoma, The Ardmoreite reported, "Crazed By Opiates Barr Declares," where Barr was under influence of morphine when he made confession to murder of Miss Florence Brown, in Saturday's Dallas News the week earlier. Have you heard of the Florence Brown murder and Meade Barr?

It was in the Monday evening newspaper, The Daily Ardmoreite, dated 10 November 1913, front page headlines that we learn that an Anti-saloon league in convention has plans for national prohibition as we read the article about "Want Prohibition By Amendment."

Remember "The Beatles" invasion? The following youtube CBS news report dated 21 November 1963 is believed to be the first major US news report to feature "The Beatles" and the new British phenomenon of Beatlemania. It featured footage recorded at the Winter Gardens Theatre, Bournemouth, England on 16 November 1963, and was broadcast on 21 November in America.
