NW Okie's Journey

60 years ago, Mildred Ann "Annie" (Newlin) Reynolds died 13 March 1956, 1:40 p.m. at the age of 22. Annie, as many knew her, was the daughter of Ernest & Marie (Schroder) Newlin. Annie was born December 25, 1933, Lambert, Oklahoma. Recently Lacey Newlin submitted an article compiled of research she had done on her relative, Annie Newlin Reynolds to the "Cherokee Messenger & Republican," a Cherokee, Oklahoma newspaper, entitled: "Ann Newline Reynolds" Death Still A Mystery 60 Years Later. It gives us a more personal insight into who Ann Newlin Reynolds was and the family around her, even 60 years after her death.

1879 - Colorado Railroad Situation

As mentioned in The Emporia Weekly News, Emporia, Kansas, dated 25 July 1879, Friday, page 1, "The Colorado Railroad Situation" ... So many law suits have grown out of the Santa Fe and Rio Grande railroads in Colorado during that time, and so rapidly too. It was very difficult to comprehend the exact situation of affairs. As the news reported it, they understood the matter, all the positions of the Santa Fe were in a fair way to be sustained by the courts,a nd the question the disputed possession of the Rio Grande property was already decided in their favor.
